unmarked package.

'unmarked package' by the institute for infinitely small things.

over a weekend in may 2007, the institute for infinitely small things set out to research insecurity in chicago's public places using unmarked packages. they ceremoniously carried over a hundred white packages (each marked "UNMARKED PACKAGE") to different neighborhoods in chicago and set them up in locations where people feel insecure. these included: the south side, daley plaza, thompson center, millennium park, little village, douglas park and hyde park.

at each temporary installation of unmarked packages, the institute polled members of the public about insecurity, fear, and anxiety in relation to both the unmarked packages and other possible threats to public safety. the nine-minute video showcases the results of this weekend's research.
