happy new year.

with it being new years day and all, i guess i'm feeling reflective. my blog was never really intended to be a personal one. i come from an architecture background and found the work i was doing to be uninspired and ill suited to me. i have always enjoyed finding designers and craftspeople who create beautiful and thoughtful objects and tended to share that info with my friends and family. so i started this as a creative outlet to share things i love and appreciate.

the last year has been one filled with lots and lots of change. i finally quit full-time architecture for good (yay!), started this blog (and have felt so good about what it is and who i am), and (last but not least) decided to open my own design store.

so there it is, for those of you who don't know i am in the planning stages of opening my own retail store and its scary and exciting all at the same time. i'm taking my time with it but my hope is that it will come to fruition maybe within the next year and that it will be something truly unique and wonderful.

a happy, safe and peaceful new year to you all.

  3. It is completely awesome that you're taking the jump to start your own store. I'm on the flip side. I'm slowly starting to take on side projects as a registered architect. It's exciting and nerve racking at the same time. But, as I always say; If you're not nervous you're not learning or pushing yourself hard enough.
