vitra sketchbook.

vitra sketchbook by zaha hadid.

architect zaha hadid herself has said that she doesn’t like “nice” designs. she likes something unfinished and raw in her designs. you can see this in this sketchbook, designed by her. the covers are raw cardboard with an angled cut, suggesting the swooping modernism of the fifties and sixties - or the vitra fire station on the back of the band circling the cover. (the angled cut also makes it easier to shove in your pocket, while giving you plenty of real estate to write on.)
