101.

in honor of traci being in one of my favorite places today.






the 101 hotel, named after the city's oldest postal code, is the handiwork of ingbjorg and lilja palmadottir. from the outside it looks like any old grey office block (it's the former headquarters of iceland's social democratic party) but inside it's all contemporary scandanavian design and icelandic art. the rooms are neutrally colour coded and only a few bother with walls to separate the sleeping area from the bathroom. downstairs is a spa, a gym and one of the best stocked cocktail bars in the city. and in a land that loves a drink, that's really saying something. -kelly
